• Look What 5 Weeks Can Do

When Alex Demczak (Clarion University | Sophomore) came to FOCUS I believe his first comments were something like “You tell me what to do and I’ll do it… I do whatever it’s gonna take.” After five solid weeks of training over the holiday break I think it’s safe to say he made some noticeable improvements. After working out four days a week (20 total sessions) we were able to drop 7lbs of unwanted smooth bodyweight, increase his size and strength, and up his overall athleticism.

Don’t take it from me… take it from him. Watch the video.

What did you do over the last five weeks? If you’re interested in getting into the program Alex attended, call me know to register. 724-747-6229

    Have Fun Winning

Check out those guns! Amanda Henry (South Fayette / Freshman) is an up and coming volleyball player who isn’t afraid to hit the weight room. You can find her at FOCUS upping her vertical and total body power between club volleyball and school 2x a week.

Not sure if you can read her shirt but it says “Duh.. Winning.” Never thought a direct quote from Charlie Sheen would describe one of our athletes but with the effort Amanda puts forth she has no choice but to win.

Are you WINNING? Call me and we’ll find out. 724-747-6229

    View From Above

One of the best moves I made when creating the layout for the new FOCUS training center was to include an elevated office. When you walk in the front door.. look up. You’ll see me perched high above writing workouts and doing some nerdy research to make our programs better than theirs.

Yes – in here we train for real. You should too. 724-747-6229

    Packing on the muscle

Not everybody wants to add as much lean muscle as possible in a little amount time but that’s just what Brandon Gresh set out to do. Rather than taking the rest of the year off after football Brandon committed himself to four days of training each week. Consistency, along with some nutritional improvements and a ton of effort on his part made it happen.

Have similar goals? Give me a call and we’ll talk about making it happen for you. 724-747-6229

    Boxing Fun with FOCUS Mitts

Check out this short clip of Emily Rock (Bishop Canevin, Jr.) mixing it up with some boxing combinations. No.. I’m not a professional boxing coach and she’s not training for the Golden Gloves, but Emily has done a damn good job picking up the basics. We use some shadow boxing and focus mitts for confidence boosters and a way to change up our conditioning. Make sure you leave a comment or hit the Facebook like button… or I’ll be forced to turn Emily loose on you!

    Build Off These Three

FOCUS operates on the premise that three things need to be established and cultivated in order to achieve substantial levels of success.

COMMUNICATION: Firm handshakes, alive eyes, body language, tone, etc. All leads to improved interaction. I have to know what you’re thinking, and you have to learn how to get it out. If we don’t talk… truly talk… you’re another athlete amongst many.

EXPECTATIONS: The importance of keeping score. Amazingly, today’s teenagers are lead to believe that “good enough is good enough”. Barf… You gotta know where you are before we plan where you’re headed. When someone creates positive expectations, and holds you accountable, you officially enter the top 5% of ass-kickers. Someone without expectations is someone without.

INFLUENCE: My personal motto is “Hug me or hate me… but don’t just stand there”. Learn what makes you tick, and take the something and make someone else tick better than you. Nobody ever accomplished a noteworthy task without being influenced by something greater than themselves.

Let me Communicate what we Expect from our athletes by getting you under the Influence of FOCUS Human Performance. Call (724) 747-6229 or email me directly here.
